Newcomers Club members make new friends when they gather to learn new skills and engage in enjoyable activities. There are daytime and evening groups; groups for singles and couples, men and women; groups that gather during the week and others that meet on weekends. If a group requires registration, it is indicated by the RSVP symbol. rsvp

Eating and Parties

Dining In, Singles & Couples rsvp – 1st Sat, in member homes. Members rotate hosting small groups for dinner.

Dining Out In Estes rsvp – 4th Fri. Group dines at local restaurants.

Lunch Bunch rsvp – 2nd Wed. Group meets at smaller restaurants for lunch and socializing.

Men's Breakfast rsvp – 1st Tues, 8:30 AM. Meet for coffee & breakfast in local restaurants.

Lady's Monday Margarita Madness rsvp – Last Mon, 4-6 PM. Group meets at local restaurants for drinks and appetizers.

Wine and Cheese – 3rd Sat, 5:00 - 7:00 PM. “Members” host events in their homes for all Newcomers. Bring beverage of choice for personal consumption & appetizer to share. Plastic glasses, plastic plates, paper napkins, and nametags are provided.

Cards and Games

Cribbage – Evening dates/time/ member’s homes TBD. Card game requires strategy and ability to add numbers to equal 15. Points scored with pegs on a board. First meeting to review the game/rules and teach new members. Singles/couples invited.

Mah Jongg – Date and time to be determined by new members at rotating member homes. Chinese tile game somewhat similar to Rummy. Lessons provided.

Men's Poker – 2nd Thurs at 6:30 PM in member’s homes.

Sheepshead – 1st Wed, 7:15– 9:15 PM, U.S. Bank, 32-card deck, 1700s German game for 2-5 people per table. Challenging, with lessons provided!

Social Bridge – 3rd Wed (may change), 1:00 PM, rotating homes.

Indoor Activities

Bowling – Every Thurs, 3:00 PM. Chipper’s Lanes at the Estes Park Rec Center, 555 S. St. Vrain Ave. Social bowlers, beginners to experts, singles or couples.

Computers – Dates and times possibly to be determined at the first meeting. Various topics covered depending on interest.

Daytime Book Club – 3rd Mon, 3-5 PM, in member homes. Group selects a book in advance for discussion.

Economy & Investments: Discussion Group – 4th Thursday, 7-9 PM, First Bank Building. A forum for the exchange of ideas on developments in the economy and the world of investing. Bring a published article on each month’s topic. Discussion will broaden members’ understanding and implications.

Evening Book Club – 2nd Wed, 7:00 PM, in member homes. Group selects a book in advance for discussion.

Knitters/Handworkers Clan – 1st Mon, 1-4 PM in member homes. Informal conversation with knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, and other optional diversions.

Movie Night in EP – Usually 4th Thurs early evening. Group views pre-selected movie at Estes Park’s Reel Mtn. theatre, followed by food & discussion at a local restaurant.

Photos/Scrapbooking Projects rsvp – 2nd Thurs, 1:00 to 5:00 PM, at Char’s house (2610 Nimbus Dr off Hwy 66). Both traditional & digital/online projects. Please RSVP by phone or email for your special time to complete your special projects your way!

Singles Mingle – Day and time to be determined depending on types of get-togethers including trips, meals, and adventures.

Trail Ridge Quilters – Every Tues, 1-4 PM. Longs Peak Conference Room, EP Medical Center. This group – founded in 1991 – creates and sells a variety of quilted items at the Elizabeth Guild Holiday House & other functions to benefit EPMC. Quilters of all skills are invited to join, including the very beginner.

Travel Club – 2nd Tues at 6:00PM . Discover & Share new and exotic destinations, both domestic and international . Share your photos and info about favorite destinations, learn tricks to save dollars from an insider, and, most important -- have fun!

Outdoor Activities

Happy Hikers – 1st Thurs, open to all Newcomers. Go to the hiker's rsvp webpage for details (or check the newsletter e-mailed monthly to members). General (easier) and more challenging hikes are offered on alternate months.

Motorcycle Day Trips – Anticipated 1-2 rides per month, to be arranged by any of the people interested.
